40 in Costa Rica!
Yes, you read that right! I’m celebrating 40 years of living this year. We decided to take our Globetrotting selves over to Costa Rica to celebrate and it was absolutely amazing. I’m not one for visiting a destination repeatedly until I’ve seen every corner of the world but Costa Rica is 100% okay with me to press RE-peat!
We flew into Liberia (LIR) and used this tour company for transportation from the airport to our home for the week. Our driver didn’t speak much English nor do we speak much Spanish but we were still able to communicate. It’s amazing how much you can communicate even without knowing the recipients language.
Our Home Away From Home!
We stayed at Secrets Papagayo which is located in Guanacaste, Costa Rica about 20 minutes from the airport. I loved everything about this resort. This resort is adult only but the beach is public. Actually, all of their beaches are public but we found a beach just on the other side that was practically like a deserted island called Monte del Barco. I so hope it remains untouched! The people at the resort and in Costa Rica in general were friendly, the food was tasty, and the rooms were spacious and clean!
Beyond the Resort!
We decided to take a day trip and by day trip I mean the ENTIRE DAY from before sunrise to almost midnight. We took a bus to Nicaragua. One of the things I noticed on our way there and going thru Costa Rica was how time just seemed to stand still. As I watched two men trekking it up a hill, they just took their time to get to wherever it was they were going. No rushing necessary at all. So this was my take away from Costa Rica – SLOW DOWN!!! You’ll hear this phrase often, “Pura Vida”, which means simple life, life is good. And, yes, Life IS Good! Live Simple.
Here’s a quick”ish” video of our stay….enjoy!
